Tracking tires.
I live in a country where we use both summer and winter tires. Thus, it would be nice to be able to track the km on both types of tires as we change them over the seasons.

Hi to all, I realized a small WEB APP to track car's cost, fuel, maintenance, etc. etc.
It include the opportunity to track car's components (e.g. tyres, brakes, bicycle racks and any other component you can mount, or dismount).
I wrote to Dave to implement this functionality on My Cars, but he never answer ... -

It should be very easy to change from "Front/Rear" tires to "Summer/Winter" tires...
I use it this way ! -

Summer and winter tires distinction would be good - and also enough. No massive amounts of details needed.

I understand that the idea of monitoring tires use is not of interest for who travel a little, but I drive 45.000-50.000 km/year, so the monitoring of tires for me is very important. Currently I use an excel chart where I take note, for each kind of tires: productor, pression, date of change, partial km (in the season), total km, alert on max limit ok km, time of use (from first installation).

@Kevin Schurman: I don't think your suggestion is relevant to this software. It's intended to monitor easily a standard car, not a racing car.
I want this soft to remain simple and I really don't see the point in monitoring every aspects of the tires I mounted on my own car.
If we would follow your logic, we'd be next monitoring brakes and have a state of every discs mounted. It's really not the point of "My Cars" IMHO.
Maybe you should turn yourself to a more racey-intended soft -

That ain't a bad idea, since tires can influence fuel consumption.
But I think the most useful thing would be knowing wich tires were installed in the car when you refilled the tank in order to show if they increased or decreased consumption -

This is also very useful if you have race track tires as well.
It would also be useful to be able to enter an ID# or serial number to keep track of which tire was on what corner of the car and for how long. This would help maintain optimum tread life by keeping track of how long tires are on the front or rear and would allow you to adjust your next tire rotation to reflect this.
Also a place to record 3 tread depth readings across each tire (Inside, Center, Outside) would be extremely helpful in decided when to rotate tires as well as help you identify suspension wear or alignment issues.
